Officer! : Ossification

Mick Hobbs and a loose list of guests including Felix Fiedorowicz, Andy Bole, Cath Jauniaux, Tom Cora, Zeena Parkins, Georgie Born and the rest of The Work in 14 toe-tappers with arrangements ranging from complex chamber-rock to Incredible String Band influenced folk. And all things between. A couple of cuts with string-quartet backing. As idiosyncratic as you would expect from a gathering of such characters. You know the phrase: Pop music as it should be - meaningful, intelligent and entertaining. May i ask why this is not reissued yet?
Note: Keep an eye on the link below for a promised reissue!

Out now!

motherfriender,
Holy crap! I've been looking for these for 15 years! Thanks a lot; this is a real find. I asked about these releases when rz put up the Momes file in October.

rz, now I don't have to rip my Ossification vinyl, which I always find is a chore, so sincere thanks to you.

Great stuff on your blog. You should do something on Orchestre Murphy. Recently did a dusting off the cobwebs radio special on them :

Merci, merci et merci. Nous sommes véritablement dans une dimension commune et nous partageons plusieurs intérêts. Je cherchais Officer depuis plusieurs années et j'adore l'album de Eroc Reichel.

Il neige à Québec, au Québec au Canada et j'écoute Dogface.

Hello rz,

am also glad to see you back. In case you're interested - here is a Iva Bittova release along with Pavel Fajt and the musicians of Dunja: "Pustit musis" (1996), released by Rachot/Behemot, Czechoslovakia. Mended by C. Cutler, by the way. ; )

Great post once again! I'm just amazed at the material you have available (some of which I have on vinyl, others I'm hearing for the first time). I hope you note on the main page when/if you get to re-post unrest, work & play.

Thanks!

High Jason willet and Az
I'm Patrick Q (Wright) who played violin on these 2 officer records. I'd just like to say hello, say high to Mick Hobbs and get in contact with the dear chap after all these years if that's possible!
I'd also be very happy to do some link swapping since I'm still full of musical projects which might benefit from some contact with the world outside rustic Umbria where I'm living now!!!!
